What Is A Compressed Air Dryer And How Does It Work?

A compressed air dryer is a filter system that liberates your compressed air from the moisture generated during the compression process. This ensures that your compressed air is of high quality and free from harmful moisture that could damage your equipment or negatively affect it during use.

Drying in a refrigerator means the compressed air is cooled, which allows large amounts of water to condense and separate. After cooling and condensing, the cooling air dryer is warmed to about room temperature so that no condensation forms on the outside of the piping system.

This heat exchange between the intake and exhaust compressed air also reduces the temperature of the intake compressed air and thereby reduces the required cooling capacity of the refrigeration circuit. The compressed air is cooled by a closed cooling system.

Intelligent control of compressed air dryers with refrigerants through intelligent control algorithms can significantly reduce the energy consumption of modern refrigeration dryers.

Coolant dryers are used for dew points between +2°C to +10°C and have a lower limit, the freezing point of condensed water. They are available as stand-alone machines or as drying units integrated into the compressor.

The latter has the advantage of taking up less space and offering optimized performance for the particular performance of the air compressor.

How your compressed air dryer works depends on the type of air dryer you have. Everyone uses a different technique for the same result: it provides clean, dry compressed air to work with.
